For this project, we are required to form a group of 10. Our task was to identify an environmental-community related issue in our local community and provide solution to the environment and community. Our chosen community was an orphanage house, Good Samaritan House, which located at Klang. We were required to have visits to the orphanage house more than once to collect a variety of observation before making suggestions or proposals. We had observe and discuss with the person in charge of the orphanage house, and we had decided to improve the garden area, rebuilt the dog house for safety purpose, and have activities that involved the children. The purpose of this project is to further develop our community skills and also develop good professional design theme. 

 

Through this project, I had aware of current environmental issues locally and also increase creativity in attempting to explore the current environmental circumstances. Besides, I had the opportunity to work with the community and for the community. I was able to understand and explain the principles of sustainability from environmental and social perspective. Next, I was able to produce a complete documentation of the entire project from proposal to completion. I was able to demonstrate problem-solving skills and recognise role and responsibility of an architect towards environment and society. Lastly, I enjoyed the moment working and spending time with the kids and also the good working experience with my group members.
