PROJECT 1: PRECEDENT STUDIES
GROUP
For the first project of Architectural Culture & History 2, it's related to Architectural Design Studio 2 project one. Based on our chosen architect and building, we were required to conduct an architectural analysis and produce an A2 board. We should explain on the general information of the building and the group components that we focus on are basic architectural presentation of the assigned building such as plan, external views, sections and detail design. The components are to be manually done and the board should include short annotations and drawings. Our chosen architect was Le Corbusier, father of modernism, and the building chosen are resident house named Villa La Roche.

INDIVIDUAL
For this individual component analysis, we are required to answer the "what" questions to further understand the underlying concepts, philosophy and details of the modern master. The five aspects are concepts, structure, materials, construction and components. We divided the topic among ourselves and my chosen topic was structure of Villa La Roche. I was required to come up with analytical sketches to explain on building structure. At the end, the sketches of each member are to complied in A4 booklet.
PROJECT 2: WEB BOOK (GROUP & INDIVIDUAL)
For this project, we are required to form a group of 5 and conduct a research to document the architecture on a selected building in Kuala Lumpur. To complete the task, we are required to do a report that writing on the findings of the building documentation. Our chosen building was Wisma Angkasapuri. The information should be supported using on site photos, sketches and diagrams as evidence and must be properly labelled and captioned. After that, the report should be compiled into a web book. We had divided the topic among ourselves. For individual work, my chosen topic was architectural style of Wisma Angkasapuri. We went inside and have a tour guide by the security guard. I had taken the photos that show the architectural style in Wisma Angkasapuri and also written down the history of the building.

Through this project, firstly I had increased my understanding on the principle, ideas and contributing factors of modern architecture in KL area. I was able to analyse and identify specific architectural features of modern architecture. Besides, I had also learnt to document architectural heritage in the form of writings, descriptive diagrams and photography. Now, I was able to create a web book as a mean to publish academic materials. Lastly, I had learnt the importance of group work in this project. We need to cooperate much in web book producing and also the information sharing among each other.

Through this project, I was able to analyse and identify specific architectural features in terms of space planning, technology, details, from and the aesthetics of the architecture of modern masters. Besides, I had learnt to create understanding in my audience visually by composing factual information and descriptive sketches on presentation board. I had increase understanding on the principle, ideas and contributing factors of the architecture of modern masters. I have more understanding on modernism and thus appreciate the contributes of the master architects.
